Day 1: CUSCO IN:
Arrival to Cusco, reception and transfer to the hotel. Time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.
Overnight in Cusco: Casa Andina Classic
Day 2: SACRED VALLEY:
8:30am we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Pisac town, where you will visit the market that is a good reason to make a stop here, where you will find some unique and authentic souvenirs. Then, you will visit the archaeological place, this Inca site remains somewhat mysterious as to what their absolute purpose was, but it seems likely that they were part of a settlement along a vital Inca road with the Amazon rain forest to the east of the mountains, it is generally understood that Pisac provided a connecting point of sorts between the highlands and the jungle. As you explore the Pisac archaeological place, you will find that the views of the mountains and valleys are simply breath-taking. Together with the Inca site, the Pisac markets bring a good amount of visitors to town. After this visit you will be transferred to the restaurant for lunch. After lunch, passengers will be transferred to Ollantaytambo which is one of the most beautiful, and significant, sites in the entire Cusco region and is rich with history that your guide will teach you about. It is a very interesting, and typical, pueblo with extensive, well preserved Inca ruins; we will visit the unfinished temples high above the village on the mountainside. It is one of the most impressive Imperial style complexes built by the Incas. Transfer to the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 3: OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES:
Free morning in Ollantaytambo to visit this fantastic inca town.
PM you aboard the train Vistadome at Olantaytambo train station and after 1 ½ hours you will arrive to Aguas Calientes, reception and accommodation at the hotel.
Leisure afternoon. (Breakfast).

Day 4: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO:
Very early, we will take the bus to the top of the hill where Machu Picchu citadel is situated, the guide will take you around this spectacular Inca ruins, visiting the most important places. Lunch at the adjacent Sanctuary Lodge hotel. In the afternoon return to Aguas Calientes.
At 15:20 you will aboard the train vistadome to return to Cusco, arrival at 19:05, transfer to the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch).

Day 5: CUSCO – CITY TOUR:
At 9:00am the guide will pick you up from your hotel to visit the most important places in and around Cusco, you will start visiting the Cathedral and its famous colonial paintings, the Koricancha (the most sumptuous sun temple of the incas) and the archeological places such as Sacsawaman (cyclopean stone constructions), Kenko (inca shrine) and Tambomachay (temple dedicated to the water); this tour lasts 3 ½ hours. Return to Cusco. (Breakfast)

Day 6: CUSCO – PUERTO MALDONADO (posada amazonas):
9:00am Transfer from the hotel to Cusco`s airport to take the flight to Puerto Maldonado.
Upon arrival to Puerto Maldonado, the guide will welcome you at the airport and drive you ten minutes to our Puerto Maldonado headquarters. While enjoying your first taste of the forest in our gardens we will ask you to pack only the necessary gear for your next few days, and leave the rest at our safe deposit. This helps us keep the boats and cargo light.
Transfer Pto Maldonado Headquarters to Tambopata River Port
Skirting Puerto Maldonado, we drive 20 kilometers to the Tambopata River Port, entering the Native Community of Infierno. The port is a communal business. Boxed Lunch
Transfer Boat – Tambopata River Port to Posada Amazonas
The forty five minute boat ride from the Tambopata Port to Posada Amazonas will take us into the Community´s Primary Forest Private Reserve. Accommodation and rest, before starting the tours.
Canopy Tower:
A twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas leads to the 30 meter scaffolding canopy tower. A banister staircase running through the middle provides safe access to the platforms above. From atop you obtain spectacular views of the vast expanses of standing forest cut by the Tambopata River winding through the middle. Now and then toucans, parrots or macaws are seen flying against the horizon, or mixed species canopy flocks land in the treetop next to you.
Ecotourism Lecture:
A daily presentation on the Infierno ecotourism project is available every night from a staff member. (Breakfast, lunch, Dinner)

Day 7: AMAZON JUNGLE LODGE
After breakfast, you will participate of the activities:
Tres Chimbadas Oxbow Lake:
Tres Chimbadas is thirty minutes by boat and forty five minutes hiking from Posada Amazonas. Once there you will paddle around the lake in a catamaran, searching for the resident family of nine giant river otters (seen by 60% of our lake visitors) and other lakeside wildlife such as caiman, hoatzin and horned screamers. Otters are most active from dawn to eight or nine AM.
Ethnobotanical Tour:
A twenty minute boat drive downriver leads you to a trail designed by the staff of the Centro Ñape. The Centro Ñape is a communal organization that produces medicines out of forest plants and administers them to patients who choose their little clinic. They have produced a trail which explains the different medicinal (and other) uses of selected plants.
Night walk:
You will have the option of hiking out at night, when most of the mammals are active but rarely seen. Much easier to find are frogs with shapes and sounds as bizarre as their natural histories. (Breakfast, lunch, Dinner)

Day 8: AMAZON JUNGLE LODGE.
After breakfast, more activities.
Parrot Clay Lick:
This clay lick is only a twenty minute walk from Posada Amazonas. From a blind located about twenty meters away you will see dozens of parrots and parakeets descend on most clear mornings to ingest the clay on a river bank. Species such as Mealy and Yellow- headed Amazon, Blue-headed Parrot and Dusky headed Parakeet descend at this clay lick. The clay lick is active at dawn, during the late mornings and mid-afternoons.
Ceiba Trail Hike:
We leave from the lobby at Posada Amazonas and embark on a two hour hike crowned by the largest tree in the vicinity: a giant ceiba tree. During the hike we will focus on the natural history of the rain forest and its principal taxonomic groups.
Farm Visit:
A thirty minute boat drive downriver takes us to the most complete farm in the community of Infierno. The owner grows a diverse variety of popular and unknown Amazon crops. In his garden, just about every plant and tree serves a purpose. (Breakfast, lunch, Dinner)

Day 10: PUERTO MALDONADO – LIMA:
(Depending your flight time) Transfer to airport and flight to Lima. (Breakfast)
